In the U.S. visiting family when pandemic travel restrictions took effect in March 2020. Because EU data protection requirements permitted access to the cancer registry records only on-site in Brussels, the work could not continue remotely; I documented and transitioned the analysis to my colleagues and redirected my dissertation to a new project.

Designed curriculum, developed all course content, and taught quarter-length courses to undergraduate and graduate students across a wide range of substantive and technical backgrounds. Since 2021, designed courses using an ungraded model built on iterative feedback and revision, with students assessing their own learning in one-on-one conferences — keeping attention on learning itself and reducing the ways conventional grading reproduces existing inequities.
